This privacy policy describes how the Food Log – AI4DM Skill was designed to protect your (“you,” “the user”) privacy and your data. Before using Food Log, please read this policy, as well as the Alexa Terms of Use and the Privacy Policies by the Amazon Digital Services LLC (with its affiliates, “Amazon”).
Regarding Amazon, “Alexa” means their Alexa Voice Service which includes third party services and other related Software.
We use Your Personal data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

When you use our skill, you have to talk to Alexa. This voice input is sent to Amazon and us where we use it to understand what our skill should do for you. This is absolutely necessary for our service to give you an appropriate answer.
During the Alexa skill session, we collect your user ID so that we know when you visit the skill again. This is not your email or any personal ID. It is a unique user ID that Amazon generates and can’t be used to identify you in any way.
The ID looks like this:

Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

We do not collect any personal identifiable information, (PII), without your explicit consent and we do not share your data. Personally identifiable information includes:
Email address
First name
Except the personal data, we save the data pertaining to your food intake such as food name, time of consumption, and quantity into our database.
Use of Your Personal Data
For account authorization: To enable the food log skill, you need to create an amazon account. We recommend using same email address for signing up Alexa app account as registered with our website.
The email address collected will be used to authorize your account on our website. Also, we will save unique amazon ID into our database. So that anytime in future if you change your email address registered on the website, the skill will still be able to recognize you based on this user ID.
Personalized greetings: We need your first name, so that when you launch the skill, it will greet you with your name. You can configure your first name as any name you wish the skill to refer you as. It doesn’t have to be a real name, and in most cases the name is based on pronunciation.
Disclosure of Your Personal Data
We do not transfer, sell, or disclose your personal information to any third parties.
Children’s Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us. If We become aware that We have collected Personal Data from anyone under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, We take steps to remove that information from Our servers.
If We need to rely on consent as a legal basis for processing Your information and Your country requires consent from a parent, We may require Your parent’s consent before We collect and use that information.
